Chelsea double deal

Chelsea are currently prioritising player exits and Fabrizio Romano confirmed two done deals during his latest YouTube video.

“I want to start from the news of the last two or three days regarding Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea,” he began. “We know how important it is for Chelsea to sell players and how important it is for Borussia Dortmund to add two important pieces to their squad.

“Well the deal is done - it was closed overnight. Aaron Anselmino goes to Borussia Dortmund from Chelsea on a loan deal with no buy option. He will go back to Chelsea in the summer of 2026.

“[Furthermore], Carney Chukwuemeka returns to Borussia Dortmund on a permanent transfer for a package of around €25 million with add-ons and an important sell-on clause.

“Chelsea are always putting these sell-on clauses in because it's really important to keep future economic control of the player in case he goes elsewhere.

“Chukwuemeka only wanted to go to Dortmund despite the tense negotiations between Chelsea and Dortmund. He said, ‘no La Liga clubs, only Dortmund’ and the deal is now in place.

“We wait for the medical and for the contract signing, but everything will be completed on Monday from what I understand.”

Garnacho to Chelsea close

Meanwhile, Chelsea are also eager to sign both Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho, and a deal for the latter is edging ever closer.

“The feeling I can give you is that Xavi Simons is waiting for the green light for Christopher Nkunku and Chelsea remain optimistic on that deal,” Romano said.

“I can also tell you that Chelsea 100% expect the Alejandro Garnacho deal to happen. I fully think we will have a ‘here we go’ this week for Garnacho.

“For sure, Garnacho is expected to become a Chelsea player. This is the message coming very strongly to the player from Chelsea. The player feels this deal will happen.

“Garnacho is very optimistic about this Chelsea move. He turned down many opportunities in Italy, in Saudi Arabia, in Germany and also in the Premier League. He wants to go to Chelsea. The expectation is for Chelsea to proceed with this deal for Garnacho.”

Romano continued: “There were some rumours on the possibility of including Tyrique George as part of the conversation between Man Utd and Chelsea. This is a behind-the-scenes story I can reveal to you on this negotiation.

“But, from what I'm told, this option was already stopped a few weeks ago. So, at the moment, George is not part of those conversations.

“George is one of the names being considered by Roma and they made an enquiry in the last 24 hours. Let's see what's going to happen there for the Chelsea winger who could leave the club.

“But again, I wanted to underline once again the importance of this Garnacho story because Garnacho is expected to become a Chelsea player by the end of this window.”

Savinho to Spurs?

Manchester City winger Savinho continues to be linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur and Romano has once again revealed that a deal could be completed.

“Keep an eye on Savinho because the Savinho story is still on,” the transfer expert admitted. “The reality is that Man City have always said ‘no’ to selling Savinho this summer, but Tottenham are still trying again in the final week and are ready to go over €70m with a new proposal.

“They feel that the player wants to join Tottenham and they feel the impact of the coach Thomas Frank is important because Frank sees him as a star for the future and this is why Tottenham are prepared to pay over €70m for Savinho.

“My feeling is that, for Man City, the only way to open doors for Savinho to go is if they find the right replacement and the player they want remains Rodrygo from Real Madrid.

“But Rodrygo is very expensive - more than €100m - Rodrygo has a big salary and Rodrygo is very happy at Real Madrid.”

Gianluigi Donnarumma to Man City?

Although Man City are yet to agree a deal for Rodrygo, they have finalised terms with Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, as per Romano.

“Gianluigi Donnarumma has agreed personal terms with Man City - there is an agreement in principle,” Romano confirmed.

“Donnarumma was to go to Man City and the negotiation between Man City and PSG is continuing. The initial request was €50m, but I understand this has dropped to around €30m-35m.

“Let's see if City can find a solution financially to sign Donnarumma, but they need to sell Ederson. Donnarumma will only go to Man City if Ederson leaves.

“For Ederson, Gatasaray are still interested in the player after a €10m bid was rejected.”

Man Utd close to Senne Lammens

Finally, Romano admitted that Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens is close to becoming Man Utd’s fifth summer signing.

“Senne Lammens was not in the starting XI for Royal Antwerp today. Why? Because he's probably going to Man Utd. The deal is at the final stages, it is advancing very fast now,” Romano revealed.

“The players said ‘yes’ to Man Utd and the contract is agreed. Now the negotiation is advancing fast. It started at €17m, plus €3m, now they are around €20m, but Royal Antwerp want to reach a €25m package.

“Obviously not starting a goalkeeper is probably a strong message that means Lammens is expected to go to Man Utd. The goalkeeper wants this opportunity and a ‘here we go’ is expected this week.

“But, it's important to clarify once that Lammens going to Man Utd doesn't mean that Andre Onana will leave. We know the Turkish and the Saudi markets remain open a bit longer than the European market, but at the moment it's not something really concrete.”
