Chelsea wonderkid 'in talks' over blockbuster summer transfer
Chelsea wonderkid Genesis Antwi is reportedly in talks with Strasbourg over a blockbuster summer transfer.
The 18-year-old, who is capable of playing in any role on the right flank, made two first-team appearances for Chelsea last season and he is regarded as one of the brightest prospects currently in the club’s academy set-up.
However, his pathway to regular senior football is blocked by Reece James, Malo Gusto and Josh Acheampong at right-back, while Cole Palmer, Pedro Neto and Estevao Willian are all options in a more advanced position.
As a result, Antwi may struggle to break into the Chelsea first-team this season and he is now in discussions to leave his boyhood club.
That is according to TheChelseaSpot, who posted on X: “EXCL: RC Strasbourg are in talks with Chelsea for their star academy talent Genesis Antwi.
“The player and his family have already visited the training ground in the last week and discussions are set to continue.”

Genesis Antwi to leave Chelsea for Strasbourg?
If Antwi completes a move to Strasbourg before Transfer Deadline Day, he would become the sixth Chelsea player to join the French outfit this summer, following the signings of Mathis Amougou (€14.5m), Ishe Samuels-Smith (€7.5m), Mike Penders (loan), Kendry Paez (loan) and Mamadou Sarr (loan).
Last season, Strasbourg benefitted greatly from Chelsea loanees Andrey Santos and Djordje Petrovic as the pair helped Liam Rosenior’s side to a seventh-place finish in Ligue 1 - securing a spot in the Europa Conference League play-offs in the process.
However, despite their success last season, Strasbourg fans have continuously protested against BlueCo’s involvement at their club and another statement from ultras group UB90 was issued ahead of their win over Metz on Sunday.
“We would like to clarify our position for the upcoming season [...] The quarter-hour silence at the start of the match will be maintained until further notice,” it read.
“The transfer window carried out so far proves to the point of absurdity that Racing is no longer a club that makes decisions in its own interest. On the contrary, we are witnessing a headlong rush where Chelsea is leading the way to the detriment of our club's independence.”
