Arsenal and Fenerbahce have reached a 'substantial agreement' for the transfer of Oleksandr Zinchenko, according to Turkish media.

The Ukraine international has reportedly requested to leave the Gunners after what was, by his own admission, his 'worst season as a professional.' Zinchenko struggled for minutes last term, even when fully fit.

“I was basically out of the starting XI altogether, bar a few isolated matches,” he wrote in a new chapter for his autobiography, Believe. “In pure personal terms, it was easily the worst season I ever experienced as a professional."

Zinchenko added that he felt Arteta had lost faith in him: "The sense of rejection you feel if your manager no longer believes in you can take the stuffing out of you, even if you’re the most resilient guy on the planet."

The versatile left-back has reportedly been offered to a host of clubs around Europe, with sides in Italy showing particularly strong interest. However, his destination now looks to be elsewhere.

Fenerbahce 'agree' Zinchenko deal

According to Sporx, Fenerbahce have reached a 'substantial agreement' with Arsenal to sign Zinchenko. Jose Mourinho has been pushing for the Ukrainian, and the Portuguese legend is being used as a 'trump card' in convincing the player to make the move.

The report claims that Fenerbahce have made a formal offer in the region of €10 million and that a broad agreement with Arsenal has been reached for what would be 'one of the most striking moves of the summer transfer window.'

However, Porto are said to be threatening the deal. No official bid has been made, but the Portuguese giants have opened talks with the Gunners and the player.

Despite this, the Turkish outlet is confident that Zinchenko's move to Istanbul will be 'official in the coming days' after sporting director Devin Ozek personally travelled to London for talks with his Arsenal counterpart Andrea Berta.
