Arsenal eye blockbuster Nicolas Jackson transfer after Eze hijack
Arsenal have been tipped to pursue a blockbuster move for Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson following news of Kai Havertz’s injury setback.
The Germany international could miss several months after suffering a knee injury against Manchester United and, in response, Arsenal have re-hijacked a deal to sign Crystal Palace superstar star Eberechi Eze.
The 27-year-old was on the verge of completing a move to Tottenham Hotspur, however Mikel Arteta’s side swooped with a last-minute offer and he is now heading to the Emirates Stadium in a major coup for the Gunners.
In addition to Eze, Arsenal are also eyeing a potential move for the aforementioned Jackson, according to The Sun.
The Senegal forward has been banished from the Chelsea first-team following the signings of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, and he is expected to leave Stamford Bridge on a permanent deal before Transfer Deadline Day on 1 September.
Nicolas Jackson to join Arsenal?
Jackson was omitted from a player-pronunciation video released on Chelsea’s social media channels on Tuesday, while he was also excluded from the club’s matchday squad for their 0-0 draw versus Crystal Palace last weekend.
The Blues are desperate to sanction a permanent sale as they look to balance their books in order to register their summer signings for this season’s Champions League, and Arsenal are now considering a move for Jackson.
That is according to The Sun, who claim that Arteta’s side are interested in both Jackson and Julian Alvarez following Havertz’s knee injury.
Aston Villa are also pursuing a deal for Jackson, with Unai Emery seeking a reunion after their time together at Villarreal, while Newcastle United are known admirers as they chase a replacement for Alexander Isak.
Arsenal’s interest in Jackson was exclusively reported by The Transfers Podcast back in June, and they appear to have rekindled their interest in his services amid concerns over Havertz.
