Noni Madueke CONFIRMS Arsenal move with emotional social media post
Arsenal have officially completed the signing of Chelsea winger Noni Madueke for a transfer fee that could reach €60 million after the winger posted an emotional goodbye message to Chelsea on his socials.
The Gunners have completed a €60 million transfer for the England winger, with €55m of that fee arriving upfront.
Madueke has signed a five-year deal with the Emirates club, announcing the deal on Instagram.
He wrote: “Dear Chelsea Football Club, I want to thank you for the last 3 or so years. To every staff member that helped me along this journey, thank you.
“To my teammates thank you for everything, I leave with only love and admiration for you guys. We achieved so much this season and I honestly wish you guys nothing but the best.
“To Enzo Maresca, it was a privilege to play under you, thank you for trying to better me as a player and as a person. Lastly thank you to every single Chelsea fan. Thank you for the love, the praise and also the criticism, I appreciate it all. I leave here with nothing but fond memories.”
Madueke scored 11 goals and provided five assists in 46 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea last campaign, and he established himself as a regular under new boss Enzo Maresca.
However, the 23-year-old was deemed surplus to requirements this summer, following the arrivals of Estevao Willian, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro, and Arsenal acted quickly to finalise a deal with Chelsea.
Madueke is set to be primarily used as a back-up to Bukayo Saka next season, although the England international has featured heavily as a left winger in recent months and he will therefore also compete with Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard for a starting berth.
Talent in abundance.

A controversial deal
Many Arsenal fans are unhappy with the prospect of Madueke arriving at the club, with a petition from supporters urging the Gunners not to complete this move attracting thousands of signatures.
The feeling is that he is not of the quality required to elevate this Arsenal side, despite netting 20 goals across 91 appearances for the Blues.
Madueke’s arrival likely ends Arsenal’s interest in Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, who was a more expensive option around the €100m mark.
Fans felt the Brazil international would bring the type of offensive output to make Mikel Arteta’s side a more serious Premier League contender.
Despite the opposition from Gunners fans, there is evidence that Madueke could be a smart signing for Arsenal, even if the transfer fee is more than his €51.5m Estimated Transfer Value (ETV).
