England star set for MEDICAL as Tottenham close in on €135m DOUBLE transfer
Tottenham are closing in on their second big money transfer in a number of days as Thomas Frank raiding his Premier League rivals to secure two major stars for more than €130 million.
Spurs have had a quiet window up until this point having only signed four players, the majority of whom had already agreed to join the club previously such as Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel.
However, having explored a transfer for a Brentford favourite of Frank’s in Yoane Wissa, Tottenham agreed a deal this week to sign Mohammed Kudus from West Ham for £55m (€64m.)
Kudus is now set for a medical with Tottenham and he could be joined by Morgan Gibbs-White, with The Telegraph reporting that Spurs are ready to activate the Nottingham Forest star’s £60m (€70m) release clause.
Tottenham are said to be ‘confident’ in signing the England international, with talks between them and Forest currently ongoing and ‘accelerating’ and no issues anticipated.
Telegraph reporter Mike McGrath also went a step further to state that Gibbs-White will have a medical with Tottenham tomorrow, indicating that Frank may have two crucial additions to his squad in a matter of days.
Tottenham leave Forest bruising to beat rivals to ambitious transfer targets
The revelation of Gibbs-White’s release clause comes as somewhat of a shock, having previously been unreported when he signed his deal at Forest in 2022.
The 25-year-old has been a crucial performer for Forest but they look resigned to losing their talisman, who has two years remaining on his contract, having also agreed to sell Anthony Elanga to Newcastle for a similar fee.
Tottenham, too, will see the capture of Gibbs-White as a major coup given the long-standing admiration of the midfielder from Manchester City, however their interest cooled after their signing of Rayan Cherki this summer.
Having secured Champions League football by winning the Europa League last season, Tottenham have been able to make their ambitious moves, with Kudus having previously been pursued by Arsenal and Chelsea before agreeing to join Frank’s side this week and both their signings look set to be confirmed in the coming days.
