Barcelona stars STUNNED by Marcus Rashford – What the locker room is saying
Marcus Rashford completed his move from Manchester United to Barcelona on loan on Wednesday in one of the biggest deals of the summer transfer window so far.
Although no money will exchange hands for now, Rashford has star power that few other players on the move can dream of.
Of course, the 27-year-old attacker has only joined Barcelona on a temporary basis from Man Utd, but the Camp Nou side have the option to make the deal a permanent one for €35 million ahead of next summer.
Rashford has won acclaim for the manner in which he handled his media responsibilities as he was unveiled before the press earlier this week, but the forward has also stunned his team-mates with his conditioning, according to reports in Spain.
RAC1 journalist Alex Pintanel reports: “He has returned without any aftereffects from his latest hamstring injury and in great physical shape.
“In the locker room, they are saying he’s like an ‘animal’.”
A Barcelona bargain
Rashford has left Man Utd on poor terms, having fallen out with head coach Ruben Amorim in December 2024. He has not played for the Red Devils since.
Instead, he was sent out on loan to Aston Villa, where he turned in improved displays. These were not sufficient for the Birmingham side to sign him on a permanent basis, however.
Rashford had long made Barcelona his priority this summer. After deals for Nico Williams and Luis Diaz fell through, the Blaugrana elected to move for him.
He arrives as a low-risk, high-reward signing, with the Catalan side hopeful that he will be able to rediscover the type of level that saw him score 30 goals for Man Utd in a stunning 2022/23 campaign.
Rashford’s €35m buy-out clause in his contract is substantially below his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €52.2m – a figure that could explode should he find his best form with Barcelona.
