The Premier League has once again asserted its dominance with multiple major transfers, while the rest of Europe has largely been forced to prioritise sales over signings.

With Transfer Deadline Day not until 1 September, there is still plenty of time for clubs to dip into the market in search of reinforcements

Below, FootballTransfers runs through the 10 most expensive signings of the summer transfer window so far.

10. Dean Huijsen - €62.5m (Bournemouth to Real Madrid)

Dean Huijsen enjoyed a sublime debut season at Bournemouth and he was expected to join one of the elite Premier League clubs this summer.

Instead, he opted to complete a dream move to Real Madrid for €62.5m and he will partner Antonio Rudiger at the Santiago Bernabeu this campaign.

9. Joao Pedro - €63.7m (Brighton to Chelsea)

Joao Pedro was widely tipped to join Newcastle United this summer, but Chelsea hijacked his proposed move to St James’ Park after agreeing a €63.7m fee with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Pedro scored three goals in three appearances for Chelsea at the Club World Cup and he will head into his debut campaign as the club’s first-choice striker, ahead of fellow new signing Liam Delap.

8. Mohammed Kudus - €63.8m (West Ham to Tottenham)

Mohammed Kudus has completed a €63.8m move to Tottenham amid interest from multiple top Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Newcastle.

He registered nine goal contributions across all competitions last season and he has become the first player to join Tottenham from West Ham since Scott Parker in 2011.

7. Jamie Gittens - €64.3m (Borussia Dortmund to Chelsea)

Jamie Gittens struggled for game time during the second-half of last season, but that didn’t stop Chelsea from splashing a whopping €64.3m in order to secure his signature.

The England U21 international was also wanted by Arsenal, but Chelsea emerged victorious in the race to sign him and he is set to compete for a starting berth on the left flank at Stamford Bridge.

6. Mateo Retegui - €68.3m (Atalanta to Al-Qadsiah)

Mateo Retegui is the Saudi Pro League’s standout signing so far this summer, with the Italy striker joining Al-Qadsiah for a fee of €68.3m.

He scored 28 goals in 49 games for Atalanta last season, winning the Serie A top goalscorer award in the process, and he will replace the departed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as Al-Qadsiah’s starting centre forward.

5. Martin Zubimendi - €70m (Real Sociedad to Arsenal)

Martin Zubimendi rejected the chance to join Liverpool last summer, but he has now completed a Premier League switch after finalising a move to Arsenal.

The Spain international has become Arsenal’s fourth-most expensive signing of all time and he is expected to be deployed in a midfield trio alongside Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard.

4. Matheus Cunha - €74.2m (Wolves to Man Utd)

Man Utd completed the signing of Matheus Cunha during the pre-Club World Cup transfer window after triggering the €74.2m release clause in his Wolverhampton Wanderers contract.

The Brazilian registered 17 goals and six assists in 36 Premier League games last season, and his arrival will shift Bruno Fernandes into a deeper role in Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 system.

3. Bryan Mbeumo - €75m (Brentford to Man Utd)

After weeks of intense negotiations with Brentford, Man Utd finally reached an agreement to pay an initial fee of €75m in order to land Bryan Mbeumo.

Mbeumo was identified as a key target by the Red Devils after he notched 20 Premier League goals last term and he will likely become a key player at Old Trafford.

2. Hugo Ekitike - €95m (Eintracht Frankfurt to Liverpool)

Hugo Ekitike has become one of the most expensive players in football history following his €95m move from Eintracht Frankfurt to Liverpool.

He scored 22 goals and provided 12 assists in 48 appearances last season and he will become Liverpool’s new starting centre forward after snubbing interest from the likes of Chelsea, Man Utd and Newcastle to secure an Anfield switch.

1. Florian Wirtz - €125m (Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool)

Florian Wirtz was one of the most sought-after players in world football following a stellar stint at Bayer Leverkusen, and Liverpool won the race for his signature after agreeing a €125m transfer fee.

The Germany international has become Liverpool’s all-time record signing and he is expected to add significant creativity to the Reds’ attack. He is the most expensive signing of the summer so far.
