CONFIRMED: Man Utd eye Nicolas Jackson transfer
Manchester United are among the clubs keeping tabs on Nicolas Jackson amid rumours that he could leave Chelsea this summer.
The Senegal international has been Chelsea’s starting striker since his arrival from Villarreal in 2023, but he has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following the summer signings of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.
Jackson is now considered to be Chelsea’s third-choice centre forward, with Pedro starting their Club World Cup final victory over Paris Saint-Germain and Delap replacing the Brazilian in the second-half.
Chelsea are reportedly eager to retain Jackson as they want three strikers competing for a starting berth next season as they look to win the Premier League title for the first time since 2017. However, the 24-year-old is no longer considered untouchable and a sale could take place if a suitable offer is submitted.
The Daily Mail have reported that Chelsea believe Jackson is worth a whopping €115 million (£100m), although his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at a far more reasonable figure of €65.2m.
Man Utd want Nicolas Jackson
Despite Chelsea’s high valuation, Man Utd are among the clubs interested in purchasing Jackson this summer, as exclusively revealed by FootballTransfers back in May.
This has been confirmed by Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, who has reported that AC Milan and Aston Villa are also eager to pursue a deal.
Man Utd are currently prioritising a move for Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo, but Jackson has emerged as one of their top striker targets as they look to sign a player capable of replacing Rasmus Hojlund.
The Transfers Podcast understands that Jackson was also on Arsenal’s radar earlier this summer as an alternative to Sporting CP star Viktor Gyokeres. However, the Gunners are now on the verge of formally confirming the Sweden international’s arrival after agreeing a deal in principle for his signature, meaning they will not sign Jackson.
