Chelsea star CONFIRMS transfer plan amid summer exit rumours
Benoit Badiashile has confirmed that he will remain at Chelsea next season, despite significant rumours linking him with a departure this summer.
The 24-year-old, who joined Chelsea from AS Monaco in January 2023, played a peripheral role under Enzo Maresca last campaign and a return to Ligue 1 has been touted as a legitimate option.
Marseille are known admirers of Badiashile and a summer exit appeared to be on the cards, with Chelsea open to a sale if a suitable offer is submitted.
The Frenchman only started three Premier League games during the entire 2024-25 season and while he was a regular in the Europa Conference League, he is firmly behind Levi Colwill in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
Despite this, Badiashile has now confirmed that he will reject a summer transfer in favour of remaining at Chelsea.
“Yes, I’ll still be at Chelsea next season,” he told Foot Mercato following his side’s victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the 2025 Club World Cup final.
“The club, the coach, and all the staff give me a lot of confidence and believe in me. I will do everything to give back to them on the pitch. I love the club, the city, and the supporters.”
Chelsea’s summer transfer plan
Although Badiashile has revealed that he will be a Chelsea player next season, the Blues are expected to sanction the sales of several defenders before the end of the 2025 summer transfer window.
Axel Disasi, Renato Veiga, Alfie Gilchrist and Ben Chilwell are all expected to depart on permanent deals following loan spells away last term, while Trevoh Chalobah has also been continuously linked with a surprise exit, despite his form since returning from Crystal Palace.
In addition, Josh Acheampong, Caleb Wiley, Mamadou Sarr and Aaron Anselmino could all be loaned out in order to fast-track their development.
