Paris Saint-Germain have been left stunned as Lucas Beraldo has handed in a transfer request, according to French media.
The Brazilian centre-back arrived at the Parc des Princes in January 2024 after the Ligue 1 giants managed to secure his signature in the face of significant interest from elsewhere.
Beraldo's time in Paris actually began in promising fashion. However, PSG decided to snap up Frankfurt star Willian Pacho in summer 2024 in a €40 million deal, and the impressive Ecuadorian quickly supplanted the 21-year-old.

The former Sao Paulo man is aware that he is only a backup option for Luis Enrique now, which doesn't sit right with him. The youngster has ambitions of playing for Brazil at the 2026 World Cup and wants to be a regular starter.
As a result, he handed in a transfer request during the Club World Cup, causing surprise at PSG, according to L'Equipe. The Parisians won't stand in his way, provided they make a profit on their €20 million investment and secure the signing of Ilya Zabarnyi from Bournemouth.
Where could Beraldo go?
Given that he wants to play regularly, Beraldo would perhaps be well advised to make the move to a mid-sized Premier League club or a bigger club that could afford him in a different top-five league.
However, his availability will certainly have also attracted the attention of some of Europe's biggest hitters, even if they may not be able to offer him an immediate starting spot.
One such club will surely be Chelsea. Beraldo is young, left-footed and very affordable for the Blues considering that he currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €29.1m.
This makes him the perfect kind of market opportunity that Chelsea are looking to pounce on now that they have completed the majority of their main summer business. After all, a new centre-back is still on Enzo Maresca's wishlist.
Another club that could be intrigued by the availability of Beraldo will be Liverpool. Like Chelsea, the Reds are in the market for a young, left-footed centre-back. What's more, they were linked with him before he joined PSG.
According to data analytics firm SciSports, Arsenal would be an ideal stylistic fit for Beraldo. However, the Gunners have agreed a deal to sign Cristhian Mosquera and will be well-stocked defensively for the foreseeable future.
