Man Utd to sign Bryan Mbeumo 'in the coming days'
Manchester United expect to sign Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo before they jet off to Sweden on 19 July, according to a report.
The Red Devils have been locked in talks with the Bees for the Cameroon international since early June, but no breakthrough has as yet been made. Brentford are sticking steadfast to their €80+ million valuation of Mbeumo.
Man Utd have submitted several bids, however, none of them have so far been enough to get Brentford to cave. The London club feel secure in the knowledge that they don't have to sell Mbeumo this summer as they have the option to extend his contract until 2027.
Mbeumo, on the other hand, is desperate to make the move to Old Trafford. The player has made it clear to Brentford and his other suitors that he has his heart set on joining Man Utd.
Talks between the two clubs are ongoing in a bid to find common ground, with Man Utd feeling increasing urgency to finally get this deal over the line as they still have plenty of other business to attend to before the deadline.
Man Utd to sign Mbeumo next week
According to The Telegraph, Man Utd remain confident that they will sign Mbeumo, and they expect the deal to be wrapped up within the next week.
It is claimed that the Red Devils are fully planning to have the 25-year-old available for their trip to Sweden on 19 July, where they will face rivals Leeds before jetting off to the United States.
The report asserts that a breakthrough in the talks is expected to be reached 'in the coming days,' which suggests that Man Utd will eventually cough up the money Brentford are demanding.
It remains to be seen if things will truly pan out that way, but Man Utd's finances have certainly been bolstered in recent days. The Red Devils have secured north of €15 million from the moves of ex-players Anthony Elanga and Alvaro Carreras to Newcastle and Real Madrid, respectively.
