Fabrizio Romano transfer news: Gyokeres BOMB, Osimhen HIJACK, Nwaneri TRUTH
Football transfer news reporter Fabrizio Romano has delivered the latest news from the 2025 summer window, with updates on Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Osimhen and Ethan Nwaneri.
Gyokeres close to Arsenal
Arsenal are now on the verge of signing Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres and Romano has provided the latest update during his most recent YouTube video.
“The ‘here we go’ is imminent for Viktor Gyokeres to Arsenal,” he said. “We have to wait for the final steps of the deal, but we are almost there and then Gyokeres will become the new striker of Arsenal.
“This Sunday was a crucial moment in the negotiations between Arsenal, Sporting, Gyokeres and his agents. As I’m recording this, Sporting have not confirmed anything officially or privately, but the ‘here we go’ is coming.”
Romano added: “Gyokeres did everything possible to be an Arsenal player and he gave up a small part of his salary package.
“At some point, there was the possibility for him to move to Saudi Arabia. A massive proposal was discussed with Sporting if they were unable to get a deal done with Arsenal. But, Gyokeres said ‘it’s only Arsenal.’
“There were two meetings on Sunday and Arsenal gave their willingness to get closer to what Sporting wanted. The role of the agent has been important as they have reduced their commission in the deal. Instead of getting 10% from Sporting, they will reduce this number.
“Arsenal are prepared to pay a guaranteed fee of €63.5m, plus €10m in add-ons. Arsenal will also pay part of the commission to the agent. We are almost there.”
Arsenal to sign Madueke
In addition to Gyokeres, Arsenal are also set to land Chelsea winger Noni Madueke for €60m.
Romano revealed: “On Monday, Arsenal will close the deal for Noni Madueke with the final part of the medical taking place. Documents are being exchanged with Chelsea for €55.4m transfer, plus €4.6m in add-ons.
“Madueke will sign a five-year contract and he will be unveiled as a new Arsenal player after the final part of the medical.”
Nwaneri contract latest
Meanwhile, Arsenal are set to fend off interest from Chelsea by tying Ethan Nwaneri down to a new long-term contract.
“Arsenal hope to complete everything for the new contract of Ethan Nwaneri in the next few days, with a new round of talks expected to close the agreement,” Romano said.
“As I told you yesterday, the deal is getting closer. Chelsea were prepared to enter the conversation and offer important money, but Arsenal have been able to control the situation.
“They have met with the player’s agent and family again to present their project and reach an agreement.”
Mosquera deal agreed
In a busy week for the Gunners, they are also set to sign Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera.
“Don’t forget about Cristhian Mosquera,” Romano exclaimed. “He told Valencia, in a similar situation to Gyokeres, that he will only go to Arsenal.
“Forget about extending his contract. Valencia offered a new deal twice, but there’s no chance - he’s not extending.”
Romano then posted on X to confirm Mosquera’s move to north London. “BREAKING: Christian Mosquera to Arsenal, here we go! Verbal agreement in place with formal steps to follow,” he wrote.
“€15m fee plus add-ons, total package under €20m. Long term deal in place, Mosquera who only wanted Arsenal. Medical ready later this week if all goes to plan.”
Osimhen hijack truth
Victor Osimhen, meanwhile, is close to joining Galatasaray on a permanent deal.
“There are some reports about Man Utd hijacking the deal for Victor Osimhen to Galatasaray - this is not true,” Romano explained.
“Osimhen is getting closer to joining Galatasaray - they will pay a €40m fixed fee immediately and €35m in installments over a few years.
“Napoli have to give the final approval to this bid, with bank guarantees, but Galatasaray are getting closer and they remain confident to sign Osimhen, with new talks to take place this week.”
“Man Utd are not part of this story. Galatasaray are giving Osimhen an important salary of €16m net per season and Man Utd were never going to be at the table for those numbers.”
Rashford to Barcelona update
Finally, Romano provided an update on Marcus Rashford’s proposed move to Barcelona.
“I am still told that Barcelona have still not decided what they want to do about a winger,” he explained. “Rashford is an option, he wants to go to Barcelona, but Man Utd have not received any bid or contact from Barcelona.
“Barcelona internally still have to decide whether they want to go for Rashford or another player. We know they dream of Luis Diaz, but it’s complicated.”
