Are Arsenal close to signing Rodrygo?

Romano says that the situation between Arsenal and Rodrygo potentially has weeks left to run, with the Real Madrid attacker having made his position on a move clear.

“What’s going on between Arsenal and Rodrygo Goes? I can confirm Arsenal’s position. It’s very clear. Arsenal love him,” Romano told his YouTube channel.

“At the moment, there’s no concrete negotiations, not even a bid. Why? Because he’s very expensive and everything for Rodrygo will be decided after the Club World Cup.

“Real Madrid will speak to Rodrygo’s camp in the next few days to clarify the situation. Remember, he will only leave if the player decides to do so. Otherwise, Real Madrid are not desperate to sell Rodrygo.

“For Arsenal, it will depend on the price and the financial package. At the moment, it’s still very early stages.”

Barcelona’s hunt for a Nico Williams alternative

Barca were left rocked on Friday as it was announced that Nico Williams signed a new 10-year contract with Athletic Club. Reports in Spain indicate that the Catalans did not even know about the deal until the news was broken on social media.

Romano has now detailed the response from the Camp Nou side.

“Barcelona want to try again for Luis Diaz. They want to make a new bid to Liverpool. It’s not going to be an easy one because they’ve already closed the door to Barca a few weeks ago and to Bayern,” Romano said. “But there are other options.

“Among these options, there’s also Marcus Rashford. He’s very keen to join Barcelona and he’s very open to the possibility. He’s waiting for a Barcelona move.”

Rashford’s final humiliation as Man Utd exit confirmed

It’s been made clear to Marcus Rashford that he has no way back at Man Utd, with Romano outlining the latest blow to the academy forward.

“Matheus Cunha takes the No.10 at Manchester United. It was the shirt number of Rashford, who was informed about it 24 hours earlier,” Romano says.

“But let me say, it’s not just Rashford who wants to leave Manchester United. All of this stems from the club’s desire to part ways with Rashford since January. Everyone’s going in the same direction for him to leave. He won’t need to train. United will give him some time to find a solution on the market.”

Man Utd clearing the deadwood

Rashford is not the only player leaving Man Utd, though.

Romano says: “It’s a similar situation with Alejandro Garnacho. It’s over between Garnacho and Manchester United. He won’t show up for training immediately to find a solution on the market. His priority is to stay in the Premier League. There was some interest from Bayer Leverkusen and some Italian clubs, too. But he’s giving priority to Premier League teams.

“Antony and Jadon Sancho are also not part of the plans at Manchester United either. It’s important to say that Tyrell Malacia is also out of the project.”

What’s going on with Victor Osimhen?

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen still hasn’t found a home for the new season, and Romano says that there’s no imminent breakthrough.

He says: “There’s still no breakthrough for Victor Osimhen. Nothing will happen in the coming hours.

“I keep getting asked by Manchester United fans but I’m not aware of any talks between them and Napoli for Osimhen. Remember that the player has a release clause of €75 million, but Al-Hilal from Saudi and Galatasaray, where he was on loan last season, are still working on a deal.

“Galatasaray are trying with a different financial proposal compared to the one from Al-Hilal. Both clubs are in conversations to sign Osimhen, because Juventus also called in recent weeks.”
