Viktor Gyokeres to Arsenal: HUGE transfer hint dropped as official announcement made

Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyokeres has refused to rule out a summer move to Arsenal amid significant speculation of a transfer this summer.
The Sweden international has been identified as one of Mikel Arteta’s primary transfer targets ahead of the 2025-26 season and Arsenal are currently locked in negotiations with Sporting.
Gyokeres has scored 97 goals in 201 appearances since his move to Sporting from Coventry City in 2023, and Arsenal view him as a player capable of firing them to the Premier League title next season.
The 26-year-old has remained incredibly tight-lipped over a possible Emirates Stadium switch and he once again refused to comment on transfer speculation during a facetime call with former Coventry team-mate Leo Ostigard.
The Norway international, who spent the second-half of last season on loan at Hoffenheim from Stade Rennais, called Gyokeres on FaceTime during an appearance on the Flymodus podcast.

“You know I’m wondering, I know you can’t say much about it, but Viktor, where are you going in the summer transfer window? Can you give us a hint? Is it Arsenal? Which three? What are the alternatives?” Gyokeres was asked by the podcast’s host.
“Haha, no. We will see,” the Sporting star replied. “Nobody knows anything yet. I wish I had a more fun answer, but that’s all I can say for now.”
Ostigard then dropped a transfer hint with his final message. “Viktor, great talking to you! See you soon and text me when everything is signed and sorted down in Arsenal,” he said.
To which Gyokeres responded: “Yeah, yeah, sure.”
Chelsea and Manchester United are also keeping tabs on Gyokeres’ situation, although Arsenal remain the frontrunners for his signature.
Viktor Gyokeres official announcement
Meanwhile, Gyokeres has officially withdrawn from Sweden’s squad to face Hungary and Algeria during the June internationals amid increasing speculation surrounding his future.
However, Sweden’s press officer, Petra Thoren, has confirmed that Gyokeres’ absence is due to a minor injury, rather than talks with Arsenal, according to FotbollSkanalen.
If Arsenal are able to finalise a deal for Gyokeres, he could make his debut for the club against AC Milan in a pre-season friendly on 23 July.
