Victor Osimhen BOMBSHELL: Man Utd to 're-evaluate' deal after Delap failure

Manchester United are reportedly set to “re-evaluate” a summer move for Victor Osimhen after missing out on Liam Delap to Chelsea.
The Red Devils identified Delap as their priority centre forward target following an impressive breakout season at Ipswich Town, however the England U21 international has decided to join Chelsea, largely due to the allure of Champions League football.
Enzo Maresca’s side are on the verge of formally announcing the signing of Delap, after agreeing to trigger the €35 million release clause in his Ipswich contract, and his move to Stamford Bridge has forced Man Utd to pursue alternative options.
The Old Trafford outfit have been linked with a move for Osimhen for several months and they are set to rekindle their interest this summer, according to The Athletic.
The Nigeria international scored 37 goals in 41 appearances on loan at Galatasaray last summer and he is virtually guaranteed to leave Napoli on a permanent deal before the start of the 2025-26 campaign.
However, Osimhen is currently in advanced talks to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, and his wage demands are seen as a major obstacle for all Premier League clubs.
Despite this, Man Utd may reportedly “re-evaluate” a summer deal for the Nigerian after failing to finalise an agreement with Delap.
Man Utd’s summer transfer plans
In addition to Osimhen, Man Utd are also interested in signing the likes of Bryan Mbuemo, Viktor Gyokeres and Antoine Semenyo, according to The Athletic.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils will reportedly pursue a new goalkeeper if Andre Onana departs, and they have identified central midfield and wing-back as other areas to strengthen.
On the other hand, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund, Tyrell Malacia and Antony are all set to depart Old Trafford after being deemed surplus to requirements.
