Liverpool receive Victor Osimhen transfer demand as Romano confirms 'green light'

Liverpool have reportedly been informed that Napoli will accept a swap deal offer for Victor Osimhen if Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa are both included in the proposal.
Osimhen has been identified as a possible target by Arne Slot’s side ahead of the 2025-26 campaign and the Reds are currently in talks with Napoli over a potential summer transfer.
Liverpool are unwilling to trigger the Nigerian’s €75 million release clause, as per reports, although they have now been offered an alternative route to finalising a deal.
That is according to AreaNapoli, who claim that Napoli would be willing to sanction a sale if Liverpool submit a swap deal offer that includes Nunez, Chiesa and an additional €20m.
Furthermore, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Nunez has given his “initial green light” to Napoli as the Uruguay international edges closer to an Anfield exit.
Although Liverpool have emerged as strong contenders to sign Osimhen in recent days, the Nigeria superstar is also wanted by the likes of Al-Hilal, Chelsea and Manchester United.
Former Man Utd defender Rio Ferdinand even believes that Osimhen is “waiting” to join Ruben Amorim’s side, while Al-Hilal are reportedly set to submit a contract proposal worth €50m-per-year once the 26-year-old returns from holiday.
Arsenal have previously been linked with a move for Osimhen too, although they have now turned their attention to Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko, with the Gunners set to submit a fresh offer for the former, according to reports in Portugal.

Victor Osimhen confirms transfer interest
During an interview with YouTuber Daddy Freeze, Osimhen admitted (via Daily Post Nigeria): “It’s always like this when the season ends and the summer transfer window begins.
“You have a lot of clubs wanting your services, but right now, I’m focused on my holiday and enjoying myself.
“While I’m enjoying my break, I’m also reminiscing about the past season I had with Galatasaray - watching clips of my goals, the mistakes I made, and the things I did well.”
