Manchester United have several players who appear to be on their way out of Old Trafford this summer, but at least one is planning on returning to Ruben Amorim’s squad.

Marcus Rashford is one of three players that football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano described as being “completely out of the project” under the Portuguese. Along with Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho, the England star appears to have no route back to the first team.

But while transfer speculation circles around Rashford, the winger, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa after being frozen out by the former Sporting CP boss, is willing to return to pre-season training with the Red Devils.

ESPN reports, however, that it is unclear to what extent he might be used as Man Utd build towards the 2025/26 season.

It reports: “Head coach Ruben Amorim has not made a decision about whether Rashford, Antony, Garnacho and Sancho will be part of his squad for the summer tour of the United States.

“With more than a month to go before the trip to Chicago, New York and Atlanta, sources close to Amorim have told ESPN it's "too early" to make firm calls on his travelling party.”

How close is Rashford to leaving Man Utd?

There are at least five clubs following Rashford’s situation with interest. Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus and Bayern Munich are all tracking the player.

Man Utd have yet to receive a bid for the 27-year-old, who has three years left on his contract.

Reports in Spain on Friday indicated that Rashford is willing to slash his wages in order to sign for Barcelona, yet with Nico Williams closer than ever to joining the Camp Nou side, this deal looks unlikely.

Man Utd are said to have set Rashford’s asking price at €40m. The player has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €53.6m.
