Arsenal’s interest in Madueke confirmed

Romano has explained that Arsenal are considering a bid for Chelsea’s Noni Madueke, but any transfer is still at its early stages.

“It's still an open story for this summer. I'm not saying that the player is available for sale because Noni Madueke remains an important player for Chelsea, part of the rotation for Enzo Maresca. But let's see what's going to happen in terms of proposals,” he told his YouTube channel.

“I can confirm just one thing: at the moment, Arsenal have not made any bid for Noni Madueke. He’s not the only name they have on the list. For example, they also appreciate Anthony Gordon at Newcastle. So there are several candidates at Arsenal for the winger position.

“But I can tell you that Noni Madueke is one of the names being discussed internally at Arsenal this week by the club. He's a player who is appreciated. He's a player who Arsenal are considering. At the moment, still no green light from Chelsea and no club-to-club talks.

“It’s not clear what Chelsea want to do with Madueke, so for sure the situation is going to be one to watch in the next weeks and months.”

Gunners hot favourites to land Mosquera

In further positive developments for Arsenal, the move to sign Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia still looking good.

“Arsenal opened talks with Valencia, but the bid, from what I understand, was not €19-20m. It was less than this, just to open a conversation with Valencia for Mosquera,” Romano says.

“Arsenal are hopeful to close this deal for something around €20-25m. They’re in the process to sign Mosquera.

“Arsenal have the green light from the player because Mosquera wants to go to there. Personal terms will be OK. There is no problem on the player's side. It's just Arsenal now working on a deal with Valencia.

“Valencia will not accept €14-16m but Arsenal will try to find a smart solution for a player who is out of contract next summer. They remain the very clear favourites for Mosquera.”

Joao Pedro: Keep an eye on Chelsea

The message from Fabrizio Romano when it comes to Brighton striker Joao Pedro is clear: watch out for Chelsea!

He says: “Newcastle are pushing for Joao Pedro, that’s true. But let’s not forget the interest from Chelsea. Joao Pedro remains a player of interest at Chelsea. So Newcastle are still actively working on the deal but Chelsea are still having conversations.

“Joao Pedro is one of the players on their shortlist and they still like the player. While Newcastle are trying to anticipate other clubs and get the green light from Brighton, at the moment there’s no club-to-club agreement.”

Romano dashes Martinez claims

There no substance behind the rumours linking Chelsea with a move for Aston Villa’s Emi Martinez.

Romano explains: “We had some stories about Emi Martinez and Chelsea. There is nothing. Chelsea are not in talks with the agents of the player or with Aston Villa. It’s completely quiet and nothing is happening there.”

Man Utd not giving up on Mbeumo

Manchester United refuse to be put off by Brentford’s constant knockbacks for attacker Bryan Mbeumo.

“Brentford are constantly mentioning in talks with Manchester United the price tag of other players in the market when they mention Mbeumo. This is why they want more than Man Utd offered with their second bid,” Romano says.

“My understanding is that the conversations between Man Utd and Bryan Mbeumo continue. So the two clubs are in talks and trying to find a solution. Man Utd remain optimistic and calm because the player is giving his total priority to them.

“This story is still active, still alive, so let’s see what’s going to happen in the next days.”

Sancho’s future decided

Finally, there is no way back for Jadon Sancho at Old Trafford under Ruben Amorim, Romano says.

“The intention of Manchester United is very clear: to part ways with Jadon Sancho. The story is considered over. Not today, not yesterday, but weeks ago when Chelsea decided not to activate their option to sign Sancho on a permanent transfer,” Romano states.

“The idea of Manchester United has always been very clear: try to find a permanent solution for Sancho. Man Utd are taking their time.

“What I wanted to clarify is that we have many stories about Fenerbahce in the recent days, in the recent weeks: Fenerbahce in negotiations for Jadon Sancho, Fenerbahce in advanced talks for Jadon Sancho. My understanding is that between Fenerbahce and Sancho, the situation is currently very quiet. It's not advanced, it's not concrete, it's not progressing. At the moment, the situation is very, very quiet.”
