Fabrizio Romano Transfer News: Al-Hilal will pay Man Utd 'ANYTHING' for Fernandes

Football transfer news reporter Fabrizio Romano has run down the headlines of the day, including the latest on Florian Wirtz, Bruno Fernandes and Bryan Mbeumo.
Liverpool make progress in double signing
Speaking in his latest video, Romano confirmed that Liverpool are advancing on a deal for Milos Kerkez, while talks with Bayer Leverkusen over a fee for Florian Wirtz is also progressing.
He said: “I'm told that even during the weekend, Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen have been in contact on the structure and on all solutions possible to close the this deal after a €130 million proposal on the table from Liverpool.
“My expectation has always been for a fast deal not taking months or weeks and this remains my expectation.
“Speaking to sources, Wirtz is expected to join Liverpool, he is expected to be a Liverpool player very soon and the conversation is still very positive between Liverpool and Leverkusen.
“So the agreement as of now is not done but my expectation is for the agreement to be done soon for Wirtz to become a new Liverpool player.”
Al-Hilal ‘willing to pay whatever it takes’ for Bruno Fernandes
This week will be pivotal in the future of Bruno Fernandes, with Romano confirming that his agent has continued to hold talks over a transfer from Manchester United to Al-Hilal.
Romano said: “Al-Hilal are prepared to pay whatever it takes to Manchester United and whatever it takes to Bruno Fernandes.
“So the conversation is ongoing but Al-Hilal has been very clear. They want Bruno Fernandes. They consider Bruno Fernandez their top target since Neymar left.
“They wanted Mo Salah but he decided to stay and now Bruno has been seen internally as the perfect player for their project. But again, Manchester United will have conversations with the agent of the player to understand what can happen next.”
Man Utd ‘admire’ Mbeumo
Manchester United are among the sides interested in signing Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford this summer as they look to add more quality in attack.
“Man United will try to add one more offensive player in the number 10 position behind the striker, so the striker remains a target but also a player behind the striker,” Romano said.

“They have several players they appreciate. Let me clarify again that Bryan Mbeumo at Brentford is a player they like. So for sure he remains in the list, but they know that they are not alone.
“There are several clubs interested. Newcastle, Arsenal, many clubs. So let me say that Man United, Newcastle, Arsenal are all clubs monitoring the player. Let's see what's going to happen there.”
Tottenham assessing Postecoglou future
Romano also played down reports that Tottenham had decided to sack Ange Postecoglou but he confirmed that Marco Silva and Thomas Frank had been ‘discussed’ internally at the club.
“Internally at Tottenham they are still assessing options,” Romano said. “No final decision has been made but it's going to come very soon by Daniel Levy, the Tottenham chairman.
“I can guarantee that Tottenham spoke for sure internally about two potential candidates. One is Marco Silva at Fulham and the other one is Thomas Frank at Brentford.
“Let's see what Daniel Levy decides to do with Postecoglou because, as of today, hehas received no communication yet on his future.
Barcelona 'favourites' for Garcia
Romano confirmed Barcelona are in ‘very advanced talks’ to sign Joan Garcia from Espanyol despite the prospect of Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Wojciech Szczesny both being at the club next season.
“Barcelona are in very advanced talks with the agents of the player. The relationship is very good,” Romano said. “The agreement between the agents of Garcia and Barcelona over the contract is almost done but it is waiting for the final green light from Joan Garcia to say ‘okay, let's proceed, let's close the deal.”

“There are still Premier League clubs interested and pushing to sign Garcia. But it's important to say that Barcelona at the moment are the clear favourites.
“Then they would decide whether they want to keep the player to be their goalkeeper this season or maybe find a loan solution also to continue with their current keepers for one more season and Garcia go on loan.”
