Victor Osimhen Transfer News Today: Chelsea still in talks as BIZARRE link emerges

All the latest news on Nigerian superstar Victor Osimhen as clubs continue to chase the prolific striker.
Chelsea 'still there' for Osimhen
Chelsea have not yet fully given up on their chances of signing Osimhen this summer, even if the prospect of a move appears to be growing ever slimmer.
Blues journalist Simon Phillips reports that Chelsea are 'still there' for the Napoli striker and remain in talks to reach an agreement. Phillips suggests that Chelsea have shifted their transfer strategy somewhat and are now ready to sign 'proven' players on big wages.
Whether this will result in a deal for Osimhen remains to be seen, with FootballTransfers recently revealing that talks were taking place to drive down the 26-year-old's €12 million-per-season wage demand.
Osimhen to... Fenerbahce?
A bizarre rumour is emerging out of Turkey stating that Fenerbahce - yes, that Fenerbahce - are increasingly interested in signing the Galatasaray loanee.
Osimhen was offered to Fener last summer but they opted against making a move for him, which meant that he ended up at hated Istanbul rivals Galatasaray instead.
Last week, Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan confirmed that Osimhen was pitched to all Turkish Super Lig clubs last summer as he was desperately scrambling to secure an exit from Napoli.
“Agents suggested Victor Osimhen to everyone in Turkey,” Dogan said “We were one of the suggested clubs, and the figures were clear. We told them that we, as Trabzonspor, could not give these figures. If we gave 20, Galatasaray would have given 25."
It is now being claimed that Fener president Ali Koc is regretting his mistake from the previous year and that he has begun 'openly flirting' with Osimhen, confident that his club could afford the Nigerian.
However, the chances of such a move materialising appear incredibly slim, both from a financial and emotional point of view, with Osimhen having repeatedly stated how grateful he is to Galatasaray for making him feel at home for the season.
Turkish analyst Nihat Kahveci believes that a move to Fener would be the 'biggest shock in the history of football.' "It would be a surprise for me if Osimhen stays," he began. "They say 'Fenerbahce is on the table'. The Osimhen I see will not go to Fenerbahce.
“If he goes, he will experience the opposite of 700 [positive] thousand tweets. This is the atmosphere here, I don't think he will go to Fenerbahce. There was a shock when he came. If we see Osimhen in a Fenerbahce jersey next year, I think it will be the biggest shock in football history."
Galatasaray still hopeful of keeping Osimhen

Perhaps equally fanciful is another claim coming out of Turkey, asserting that Galatasaray are 'intensifying' their efforts to make Osimhen's stay permanent.
Journalist Serhan Turk claims that Galatasaray vice president Abdullah Kavukcu has held fresh talks with the player's camp regarding a transfer this summer.
“Osimhen said he will stay,” Turk asserts. “The support he receives - especially from Galatasaray fans during the upcoming match against Kayserispor - could prove decisive.
“His hesitation is actually working in Galatasaray’s favour as they push to convince him. They told him, 'We want to be at the transfer table. If you choose us, we will be happy together.'”
Juventus prioritise Osimhen signing
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Serie A giants Juventus continue to chase a deal for Osimhen. The Bianconeri have made the 26-year-old their top target to replace Dusan Vlahovic, who is reportedly being courted by Atletico Madrid.
Sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, who originally signed him for Napoli, remains convinced that Osimhen has the perfect 'profile' to lead the line for the Old Lady.
However, Napoli are naturally reluctant to sell to their rivals, and it is not simply a case of Juventus being able to trigger his €75m release clause and thus bypass the Neapolitans. His clause is only active for non-Italian clubs.
There is a feeling that Napoli would demand a premium price for Osimhen should Juventus enter formal negotiations. Compatriot Ademola Lookman is viewed as an alternative, but knowing how tough Atalanta are to deal with, he could be equally expensive.
