Liverpool STUN Chelsea with offer for Enzo Maresca's top target

Liverpool have presented a 'formal offer' for Dean Huijsen, according to Spanish media.
The Bournemouth centre-back has managed to establish himself as one of the most promising talents in Europe and is set to depart the Cherries after just one season.
Huijsen has a €60 million release clause in his contract, and his suitors feel that this is a fair price for the 20-year-old. The player has yet to pick his next club, but with the season drawing to a close, it is only a matter of time before a decision is made.
Indeed, it is expected that the Dutch-born Spanish international will choose his next destination before the end of the month, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all scrambling for his signature.
Real Madrid, too, are interested, but Los Blancos have not yet officially entered the race for Huijsen as they await the arrival of Xabi Alonso as their new head coach.
Liverpool make Huijsen offer
Last week, it was claimed that Chelsea had managed to secure buy-in from Huijsen for their project and that they were 'outbidding' Liverpool with their contract offer for the youngster.
Be that as it may, Spanish outlet CadenaSER asserts that Liverpool have officially stepped up their pursuit of Huijsen by making Bournemouth a 'formal offer.'

However, so too have Arsenal, Chelsea and even Tottenham, while Huijsen's camp is still waiting to hear from Real Madrid. A move to the 15-time European champions would be his dream.
Liverpool clearly can't be discounted in the race to sign Huijsen, but the report confirms that Chelsea are still in pole position. The centre-back is said to be very appreciative of the interest from the Blues as they have made it clear to him that he is their absolute priority target.
