Confirmed: Man Utd initiate contact to sign Onana replacement - Romano

Manchester United have reportedly added Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic to their transfer shortlist ahead of the 2025 summer window.
The Red Devils are actively searching for a new shot-stopper following a number of high-profile errors from Andre Onana since his arrival from Inter Milan and they are now exploring the possibility of signing Milinkovic-Savic this summer.
That is according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Man Utd have made initial contact to sign the 28-year-old later this year.
Ruben Amorim’s side have reportedly requested information on Milinkovic-Savic’s potential price tag and they are eager to be kept informed on his situation after initiating informal contact to purchase him.
Romano has also confirmed that the aforementioned Onana has suitors in Saudi Arabia, while Altay Bayindir, Man Utd’s back-up goalkeeper, may depart the club this summer too amid rumours of a return to Turkey.
James Trafford, Lucas Chevalier and Senne Lammens have all been linked with an Old Trafford switch in recent weeks, but the Red Devils are set to pursue a summer move for Milinkovic-Savic if Torino’s asking price is deemed to be reasonable.
The 28-year-old has 19 caps for the Serbia national team and his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €12.4 million.

How good is Vanja Milinkovic-Savic?
Milinkovic-Savic has been one of the best goalkeepers in Serie A in recent seasons. Much like his more famous brother Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, now at Al-Hilal, Vanja has established himself as a top quality player in the Italian top flight.
In fact, Vanja has been arguably the best goalkeeper in Serie A this season along with Roma’s Mile Svilar.
Standing at 6ft 8in, he has a giant presence and commanding nature in the area. He is also good with his feet.
He has become best known this season for his incredible record from penalty kicks. He has saved four of the five penalties he has faced in 2024-25, denying spotkick attempts from Christian Pulisic, Mateo Retegui, Santiago Castro and Mario Pasalic.
