Bellingham has been hugely impressive for Sunderland and is expected to play top-flight football one way or another next season. The Black Cats have qualified for the Championship play-offs and could secure promotion to the Premier League, which would massively boost their chances of keeping hold of the teenager.

Should they fail to go up, Bellingham would be expected to move on, although the 19-year-old is not necessarily desperate to leave. Borussia Dortmund, the former club of brother Jude, hold a concrete interest, while Man Utd and other Premier League sides are also keen.

Earlier this week, it was reported that a delegation of Dortmund bosses, including head coach Niko Kovac, travelled to Newcastle for talks with the player and his family. Sky Germany now reports that Bellingham is the absolute top priority for the Black and Yellow this summer.

Jobe doesn't want to be Jude 2.0

Bellingham is certainly intrigued by Dortmund. He obviously still knows them well from his brother's time at the club, and he is aware of their reputation of being able to turn prospects into players capable of lining up for Europe's biggest sides.

However, the report also states that Bellingham has some concerns about a move to Germany. For one, Dortmund are still not guaranteed Champions League football, which is said to be a must for the midfielder.

Moreover, and perhaps more intriguingly, the report claims that Bellingham does not want to be compared to brother Jude and is wary of following in his footsteps. Dortmund, for their part, don't see quite the same potential in Jobe as in Jude, but they still rate him very highly.

His reservations about a move to Dortmund could be good news for Man Utd, who are one game away from guaranteed Champions League football. However, other 'top clubs' are also courting the 19-year-old.

Bellingham does not have a release clause and is expected to cost 'at least' €25 million. RB Leipzig have also been heavily linked with him in recent weeks.
