Man Utd 'serious' about signing World Cup winner who 'WILL LEAVE'

Manchester United are 'serious' about signing Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, according to a report.
The Red Devils can't wait for this rotten season to end, and they are trying to prevent a repeat by spending big in the summer transfer window. Their ability to splash the cash certainly took a hit when they lost the Europa League final, but they are confident that they can still make prominent signings.
Matheus Cunha is set to become the first major arrival of the summer, but he alone will require a whopping outlay of €74 million. The Red Devils are also looking to bring in a striker, with Liam Delap their top target, whose departure from Ipswich has already been confirmed.
Delap will cost a relatively trifling €35m, but he also has other suitors. If Man Utd miss out on him - which seems likely considering that he wants to play in Europe next season - they may have to pursue a more expensive option.
There are other problem positions that also need to be strengthened. Signing a new goalkeeper initially wasn't on the agenda, but Andre Onana's disappointing recent performances have shone the spotlight on the role between the sticks.
Man Utd 'serious' about signing Martinez
It is unclear just how much of a priority adding a goalkeeper is at this stage as bringing in more attack-minded players seems a significantly more pressing matter.
Still, Man Utd are certainly attentive to the goalkeeper market. Indeed, according to TEAMtalk, Man Utd are 'serious' about signing Aston Villa star Emiliano Martinez.

The Argentine was emotional at Aston Villa's last home game of the season against Tottenham, and it is expected that he will pursue a new challenge this summer. The above-mentioned goes so far as to state that the World Cup winner 'will leave.'
The Birmingham club are willing to listen to offers as they must 'navigate' Profitability and Sustainability Rules concerns and will engage with suitors for a price of around €48m. However, whether Martinez is keen on the move to Old Trafford remains to be seen.
