Man Utd hold talks with Bryan Mbeumo as €60m deal lined up

Manchester United have reportedly held talks with Bryan Mbeumo as they look to agree a deal for the Brentford forward this summer.
The Cameroon international enjoyed a sublime 2024-25 campaign - notching 20 goals and providing seven assists in 38 Premier League appearances - and Man Utd are pushing to reach an agreement for his signature.
The Red Devils are eager to strengthen their attacking options during the 2025 summer transfer window and they have now initiated talks with Mbeumo, according to talkSPORT.
Brentford boss Thomas Frank recently hinted that Mbeumo could leave the club this summer, although he confirmed that any interested party will be required to submit a sizable offer for the 25-year-old.
“I'm the head coach, I want my best players to stay forever," Frank told Sky Sports. “I know that Bryan is very happy being here at Brentford, he's thriving, doing well and playing fantastic. What happens in the future? I don't know.
“I've said many times: we are a selling club. But at the same time we have to reinforce that there are 10 clubs in the world who aren't selling clubs.
“So, of course, if the right price - and that's going to be expensive - is coming, then I'm sure the club will be open for it. But I'm very happy he's here, and I'm convinced that Bryan will still be happy playing football here.”
Despite Brentford’s reported asking price of at least €60 million (£50m), the sale of Alejandro Garnacho may fund a move for Mbeumo, according to Manchester World.
Ruben Amorim has informed Garnacho to find a new club following the Argentine’s fiery comments after the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, and his transfer fee could help Man Utd land Mbeumo ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

Man Utd’s attacking revamp
In addition to Mbeumo, Man Utd are also eager to bolster their forward line with the purchases of Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Matheus Cunha and Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap.
A deal to bring Cunha to Old Trafford has been agreed between all parties, while Man Utd have held extensive discussions with Delap as they look to finalise the signing of the England U21 striker.
