Florian Wirtz and his family travelled to England earlier on Tuesday for talks with Manchester City, according to German media.

The wonderkid's future has seemingly taken another turn, with the Premier League giants not ready to give up on their pursuit just yet. Wirtz is Pep Guardiola's top target to replace Kevin de Bruyne, and Bayer Leverkusen would prefer to do business with a foreign club.

On Monday, it was revealed that Bayern Munich had officially opened talks with their rivals to sign Wirtz this summer after reaching an agreement with him on personal terms.

In the German press, it has been claimed that it is Bayern or bust for Wirtz this summer as the youngster and his family feel that a move to Munich would be ideal for him at this stage of his career.

However, Man City's interest in Wirtz is genuine, and it seems that the Cityzens are willing to make one final push to convince the 21-year-old to snub the Bavarians.

Wirtz jets in for Man City talks

According to BILD, Wirtz and his family were in Manchester today to hold talks with Man City. His father Hans Joachim and mother Karin were pictured leaving Maastricht Aachen airport at 6:47 p.m. after returning from their day-trip to England.

The publication speculates that the Wirtz family chose the small airport near the Dutch-German border so as not to attract attention, an undertaking that clearly failed.

The report adds that Wirtz must be giving Man City serious consideration, otherwise he would not have used his day off from Leverkusen training to fly out to England.

It is further claimed that Man City have made a concrete offer for Wirtz that, it is postulated, could be closer to Leverkusen's desired fee of €150 million than what Bayern are initially willing to offer, with the Bundesliga champions reportedly trying to drive the price down to €100m.

It remains to be seen if anything will come of this, but it seems increasingly likely that Wirtz will leave Leverkusen this summer.
