Liverpool can finally sign midfielder BETTER than Martin Zubimendi

Genoa are finally ready to cash in on long-time Liverpool target Morten Frendrup, according to a report.
The Denmark international has been catching the eye in Serie A over the past two seasons and was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool last summer.

However, the Reds ultimately decided to put all their eggs in one Martin Zubimendi-shaped basket, only to be left disappointed when the Real Sociedad midfielder decided to stay with his boyhood club.
Over the winter, Zubimendi held fresh talks with long-standing admirers Arsenal, and it is thought that the Euro 2024 winner is now on his way to North London rather than Merseyside.
Failure to sign Zubimendi didn't do Liverpool any harm, with the Reds cruising to the Premier League title after Arne Slot decided to mould Ryan Gravenberch into a world-class holding midfielder. However, it is thought that the Anfield club are still open to adding more depth.

Frendrup available this summer
TEAMtalk now reports that Liverpool could belatedly get their hands on Frendrup. The outlet states that Genoa are ready to cash in on the 24-year-old this summer and that they want around €30 million for him.
Frendrup feels that he is ready to take the next step in his career, and Liverpool are 'serious' about signing him. Scouts have watched him in the flesh on several occasions this season.

Intriguingly, Frendrup could be an even better signing for Liverpool than Zubimendi would have been. Data from SciSports suggests that the Genoa star is already a better player than the Spaniard and that he still has the potential to develop even further.
It is therefore unsurprising that the report states that Liverpool's recruitment department has been left 'very impressed' whenever they have made checks on Frendrup. At €30m, the Dane is certainly a very affordable player for the Premier League champions.
