Jack Grealish is reportedly “almost guaranteed” to leave Manchester City this summer after an extremely underwhelming 2024-25 campaign.

The 29-year-old has only started seven Premier League matches this term, with just one coming since the start of 2025, and he has been an unused substitute on 15 occasions across all competitions this season.

Grealish, who joined Man City for a British record transfer fee of €117.5 million in 2021, has fallen down the pecking order since the arrival of Savinho last summer, and The Telegraph have revealed that Pep Guardiola has excluded the Englishman from his matchday squad to face Fulham in their final Premier League fixture of the season.

The former Aston Villa superstar has been heavily linked with a Man City departure amid his diminishing role at the club, and Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that a summer exit is certainly on the cards.

He posted on X: “Feeling at Manchester City is that his [Grealish’s] exit in the summer transfer window is almost guaranteed, looking for solutions.”

FootballTransfers understands that Tottenham Hotspur were in contact with Grealish’s representatives in late 2024, while Chelsea have previously been tipped to pursue a transfer amid their push to bring a new left winger to the club.

What has Pep Guardiola said about Jack Grealish?

Grealish was an unused substitute during Man City’s 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final last weekend, and after the match Guardiola admitted that he is yet to hold discussions with the Englishman over a possible exit this summer.

“We didn’t talk, I didn’t talk with him. People don’t believe me, but these things belong to the agents and the club and Txiki [Begiristain], and in this case Hugo [Viana] as well. Both will decide,” Guardiola told reporters.

“What is going to happen will happen, but he has to come back to start to play minutes again.”

Guardiola added: “It’s not [only] Jack. There is not one player in my locker room, and I think all the locker rooms around the world, that is happy [when they] do not play.

“When the team is winning and winning they have to figure out how everything happens - but they are not happy. They are here to play and, when they don’t play, they are not satisfied. That is the normal position in all the clubs.”

Grealish, whose Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €43.5m, has just two years remaining on his current contract at Man City and he seems destined to leave the club after an ill-fated spell at the Etihad Stadium.
