The Brazilian is coming off a spectacular second loan stint at BlueCo affiliate Strasbourg, where Santos established himself as one of the best midfielders in Ligue 1.

Ultimately, the 21-year-old's heroics weren't enough to secure shock qualification for Champions League football, but Strasbourg still have a chance of getting into the Conference League if PSG beat Reims in the final of the Coupe de France.

Such was Santos' impact at Strasbourg that he was at one point described as 'the best player in the world' by teammate - and ex-Blues flop - Diego Moreira, while head coach Liam Rosenior hailed him as 'world class.'

Given his performances and the fact that Chelsea are pretty stacked in midfield, there has been a fair bit of speculation surrounding the future of Santos. Indeed, even Arsenal have been associated with a blockbuster move for the wonderkid.

Santos to stay at Chelsea

However, Chelsea's plan has always been to integrate the youngster into Enzo Maresca's side this summer and to have him available for the Club World Cup. This has now been confirmed by co-owner Todd Boehly.

Speaking at the Qatar Economic Forum, the American announced that Santos is not for sale in the upcoming transfer window and that he will be utilised at the tournament in the US.

"We are laser-focused on the Club World Cup. We have some players that are joining us. Andrey Santos, we are really excited about him and what he can add to the squad,” Boehly said.

Santos is expected to be part of Chelsea's first team next season, although it remains to be seen if he will be able to get consistent minutes in a midfield that boasts the likes of Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez, Romeo Lavia and more attack-minded players such as Cole Palmer and Estevao.
