Romano CONFIRMS Moises Caicedo deal amid Saudi Pro League interest

Chelsea are planning on offering Moises Caicedo a bumper new contract after he picked up the two main awards at the club’s end of season ceremony on Sunday.
The Ecuador international was labelled a flop following his arrival at Stamford Bridge for €116 million from Brighton & Hove Albion, but he enjoyed a strong end to last year and he has been Chelsea’s standout performer since the appointment of Enzo Maresca.
Caicedo has started all 35 of Chelsea’s Premier League fixtures so far this campaign and he won both the Player of the Season and the Players’ Player of the Season awards on Sunday following a spectacular season for the Blues.
In response, Chelsea are now set to hand the 23-year-old a contract extension, according to The Telegraph and Fabrizio Romano.
Caicedo’s current deal at Stamford Bridge isn’t due to expire until 2031, but the club are eager to tie him down to an extended deal in a similar vein to the new contracts signed by Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson in 2024.
Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Nassr have reportedly identified Caicedo as their top target for the upcoming summer window and Chelsea are eager to end transfer speculation by finalising a new deal.
The Telegraph’s Matt Law has revealed that Chelsea are set to discuss the possibility of offering Caicedo a new contract once the season reaches its conclusion as they believe his stock is set to skyrocket if they achieve Champions League qualification.

Meanwhile, Romano posted on X: “Chelsea plan to open talks with Moises Caicedo’s camp over new deal as they’re very happy with his impact again this season.
“Negotiations have not started yet and it will take some time as not urgent topic, but club plans to give Moises a new contract.”
Cole Palmer on Moises Caicedo
Following Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Liverpool on Sunday, in which the aforementioned Palmer ended an 18-match goalless drought, the Englishman was quick to praise Caicedo during his post-match interview.
“When you’ve got him next to you it’s a dream really,” Palmer told Sky Sports. “Wow, machine. From the start of the season until now I think he’s been our best player. He’s a machine, wins everything back always.
“Always 100 percent every day, humble and nice to everyone. Everyone loves him.”
