Arteta admits Arsenal 'goosebumps' as FOUR transfers confirmed

Mikel Arteta has admitted he feels “goosebumps” whenever he thinks about next season as Arsenal prepare for a mega summer transfer window.
The Gunners sealed a third consecutive second-place finish in the Premier League with a 2-1 victory over Southampton on Sunday and Arteta has confirmed that preparations are already underway for the 2025-26 campaign as the north London giants seek to end their five-year major trophy drought.
Following their final game of the season, Arteta was asked when Arsenal will start planning for next campaign. “Now. Immediately,” he told reporters.
“Yes, 100%, because tomorrow we already have certain things that we are discussing and making decisions.
“Everything that is planned for pre-season and the first few weeks of the season is already done two, three months ago.
“So we are in a really good [place]. And the moment I start to think about that, I feel goosebumps and excitement. And this is a really good sign always.”
FootballTransfers understands that Arsenal are set to be extremely active in the transfer market this summer, with Arteta set to be backed heavily by the club’s owners.
The Gunners are pushing to complete a deal for Sporting CP centre forward Viktor Gyokeres, amid their pursuit of a new striker, while they are also hoping to bring Athletic Club winger Nico Williams to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal have reportedly identified Rodrygo (Real Madrid) and Jamie Gittens (Borussia Dortmund) as key transfer targets too and , as exclusively revealed by FootballTransfers, they will bolster their midfield ranks with the addition of Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi.

Arteta confirms four summer exits
Meanwhile, Arteta has also confirmed the departures of Kieran Tierney, Jorginho, Raheem Sterling and Neto, with the former two leaving on Bosman deals and the latter two returning to their parent clubs.
“It was important to win it, it was important as well to say goodbye to a few players who have left our football club, to say thank you for their contribution,” Arteta admitted after Arsenal’s win over Southampton.
“Some of them, like Kieran, they’ve been on this journey for six years with us. Jorginho, we’re trying to hug him, Neto and Raheem as well. So, there are a few players that I had the duty to say thank you to. I think we all have and we wish them the best for the next season.”
