Bayern Munich could get serious about their interest in Copenhagen wonderkid Roony Bardghji, according to German media.

The talented 18-year-old has been the subject of a massive media circus in recent days. In a stunning exposé, Danish media accused transfer guru Fabrizio Romano of being in the pocket of clubs and agents, with his recent update on Bardghji's situation allegedly serving as a prime example of a player representative employing the Italian and his audience of millions to put pressure on Copenhagen.

The youngster has been frozen out of the first team, which Romano claimed is due to the fact that he is unwilling to extend his contract. Bardghji's deal only runs until December 2025, meaning that the Danish giants will be forced to cash in on him sooner rather than later.

Both the club and head coach Jacob Neestrup have vehemently denied claims that Bardghji's lack of minutes since the turn of the year has anything to do with his contract situation. Nevertheless, it is strange that one of the club's most prolific goalscorers can't get on the pitch anymore.

It is clear that Bardghji's days in Denmark's capital are numbered and the Swedish wonderkid will have no shortage of suitors in the summer.

Bayern barge into the race

According to Romano, the likes of Man Utd, Barcelona and Tottenham have all been scouting Bardghji over the past 12 months, while Chelsea have also been heavily linked with the teenager, who downed the Red Devils in the Champions League group stage earlier in the season.

Now, BILD, citing Danish media, report that Bayern Munich also have a long-standing interest in Bardghji. The report implies that the Bavarians could act on their interest in the summer, but it is acknowledged that the Bundesliga giants would face stiff competition, with league leaders Bayer Leverkusen reportedly also keen.

Moreover, there are questions about whether free-spending Bayern, who have shelled out north of €150 million on deals this term, actually need the winger. Bardghji would compete with Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry and new signing Bryan Zaragoza for a spot in the team, making it difficult to imagine that the Allianz Arena would be his ideal destination.
