Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Manchester United will entertain offers for Antony in the summer.

The Red Devils have done a complete U-turn on Antony's future. While they were unwilling to sanction an exit in January, recent reports have claimed that they will be open to bids in the summer.

Though somewhat surprising given that the Brazilian is one of Erik ten Hag's favourites, a former Ajax protégé of his, it is ultimately what you would come to expect from this new era at Man Utd. Sir Jim Ratcliffe's acquisition of a 25 per cent stake in the club is set to end the Red Devils' years of mediocrity.

Perhaps no player has embodied that mediocrity more than Antony. Still without a goal contribution in Premier League play this term, the €95 million signing had to watch on as 19-year-old Omari Forson got the nod ahead of him against Fulham last week - on his birthday.

Prior to the match, Ten Hag admitted that the winger will have to buck up his ideas to get back into the team, but his days as a Man Utd player appear to be numbered.

Romano confirms Man Utd's new stance

Though Ten Hag has since tried to defuse the situation by giving Antony a public vote of confidence, it seems that this has not changed Man Utd's internal stance that the 24-year-old will be for sale in the summer.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that Antony could be sold in the upcoming transfer window. “I think Man United will be quite open [to offers]," he told CaughtOffside.

"In case they receive an important proposal, then we could see this possibility for Antony. We’ll have to see what the player wants though, and what the situation will be in the summer.”

Man Utd will need a replacement for the Brazilian and Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise could be just the man for the job, with Ratcliffe already greenlighting a potential move. "I think it’s going to be a very big race for Michael Olise," Romano said.

"Manchester United appreciate the player, but we have to wait for their new director to see what will be the budget, what will be the strategy. But it’s a player they like, for sure. Chelsea were also interested and close to signing him last summer, now there is a release clause so it’s going to be an interesting one for these clubs.”
