Liverpool are set to engage in a tussle with Manchester United for the signature of Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise with both clubs considering an approach, FootballTransfers has been told.

While the dynamic 22-year-old is expected to stay put at Selhurst Park for the current January window following the injury he sustained against Brentford in December, a move is on the horizon at the end of the season.

We understand that Olise's contract with Crystal Palace includes a release clause of £60 million. The South London club, resolute in their stance, are adamant that any potential suitors must meet this valuation to secure the services of the highly coveted winger.

Man Utd have been closely monitoring Olise's progress, especially in light of Ineos' impending recruitment overhaul whose ambition is to bring in some of the best domestic talent around, as initially reported by the Evening Standard.

However, Liverpool are now also at the table, identifying Olise as a strategic target for the right-wing position, with a long-term view to potentially succeed Mohamed Salah, who will turn 32 in June and whose contract is up in 2026.

When is Michale Olise's contract up?

Despite previous speculations linking Olise with a departure from Crystal Palace during the last summer transfer window, the winger chose to commit his future to the club by signing a long-term contract extension, tying him to Selhurst Park until 2027.

Looking ahead to the summer, Liverpool's interest extends beyond Olise, we have learned they are also eyeing Leeds attacker Crysencio Summerville, though it's not clear whether the side will purchase both. The two players are set to part ways with his current club in the upcoming transfer window amid their spellbinding form this campaign.
