Sevilla are eyeing Gio Reyna as a potential replacement for Suso and Ivan Rakitic, according to Spanish media.

The USMNT star is on his way out of Borussia Dortmund, but it is still not clear where exactly he will go. The 21-year-old is keen to get more game time and certainly has no shortage of suitors, yet time is slowly but surely running out to seal a deal.

Nottingham Forest and Olympique Marseille reportedly both managed to agree personal terms with the attacking midfielder last week. However, a final decision on the move was not expected to be made before this week. Dortmund are keen to cash in on the American this month, while some of his admirers would prefer an initial loan deal.

In addition to Forest and Marseille, the likes of Benfica and Sevilla have been credited with an interest recently, while FootballTransfers exclusively revealed that Aston Villa have also enquired about Reyna. Sevilla, it seems, could step up their pursuit in the final days of the window.

Reyna to Sevilla

The struggling Spanish giants have brought in major reinforcements this month, but not all of them appear to have worked out, with Man Utd loanee Hannibal Mejbri exiled from the first-team squad a mere week after arriving.

Moreover, the LaLiga side could lose two experienced big names before the Spanish window shuts on Wednesday. Ivan Rakitic has reportedly already sealed a move to Saudi side Al-Shabab, while former Liverpool youngster Suso could yet follow suit, according to Estadio Deportivo.

Losing both the former Barcelona man and the 30-year-old winger would require Sevilla to bring in at least one more fresh face. The current frontrunner to be that fresh face is USMNT star Reyna as things stand. Sevilla, however, will need to act fast to secure his signature.
