Romano reveals Man Utd's Greenwood stance amid growing transfer talk

Fabrizio Romano insists that Manchester United have not made a decision on Mason Greenwood's future despite growing transfer talk.
The disgraced forward is rebuilding his career on loan at Getafe. The Red Devils' initial plan to bring him back into the fold at Old Trafford had to be scrapped amid massive public uproar. Instead, the 22-year-old was temporarily shipped out to Spain, where he is getting back to form and fitness.
The ex-wonderkid has scored two goals and notched three assists in 10 games so far this term and this has given rise to speculation that several clubs are already thinking about making a potential move in the summer when he returns to Man Utd from his loan. Several Spanish clubs, including Champions League participants Real Sociedad, are said to be interested.
Moreover, his good form is posing a potential headache for the higher-ups at Man Utd. Erik ten Hag's side is crying out for a player like Greenwood as the Dutchman's attack has struggled to perform in the Premier League. Yet, surely the decision to utilise him again would spark fresh outrage, which is the last thing Man Utd with their already damaged reputation need.
What did Romano say?
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, however, has dismissed all of this talk about the future. "We had some rumours about Getafe [being] already prepared to bid for Mason Greenwood, to have him long-term."
"[We also had rumours] about other clubs in Spain, including Valencia and others, thinking about the possibility to bid for Mason Greenwood; about Man Utd's next future co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe already discussing internally about the situation of Greenwood. From what I'm told, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has made no decision at all about Greenwood now and nothing will be decided in December."
"The idea is to take some time, to let Greenwood play for Getafe where he is on loan, and then in 2024 - but probably in March, in April, in May, not in the January transfer window - the idea will be to discuss the position of Mason Greenwood, also based on his performances for Getafe, based on many different factors..."
