Omar Marmoush is enjoying a fruitful run of form and the talented forward appears to be finally coming good - at age 24.

The Egyptian has always been a highly-rated attacker - so much so that he was scouted by Arsenal earlier this year - but it had never really clicked for him like it is currently at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Many expected the Eagles to struggle after losing star striker Randal Kolo Muani to PSG, but Marmoush is quickly making Eintracht Frankfurt fans forget about the Frenchman. The question is, can he keep this up and how good is he really?

What position does Marmoush play in?

A versatile attacker, Marmoush is being mainly deployed as a central striker this season. However, the Egyptian has also featured in attacking midfield and out on the wings.

How good is Marmoush?

Touted for big things since bursting onto the scene in his native Egypt, Marmoush - who was also eligible to represent Canada before becoming cap-tied - headed to Germany as a teenager, joining VfL Wolfsburg. However, he struggled to fully live up to his potential initially.

Loaned to St. Pauli and Stuttgart, Marmoush often showed signs of immense promise without ever being able to establish himself at his parent club. Some of it was likely due to his versatility. An attacker who can feature on the flanks and centrally, Marmoush is a bit of both, half winger, half striker, and this meant that he was often plugged into wherever he was needed at any given time.

Nevertheless, it was always clear that there was a tremendous player in there. Skilful, quick and intelligent, Marmoush has always had the potential to become a star - and clubs recognised this. A sought-after commodity as he approached the end of his Wolfsburg contract, Marmoush made the move to Frankfurt and he hasn't looked back.

The Eagles started the season laboriously after a summer rebuild that saw them lose star man Randal Kolo Muani to PSG right at the end of the window with no time to sign a high-profile replacement. However, they have turned their form around and arguably the biggest reason behind their success has been Marmoush finding his scoring boots.

The 24-year-old has netted 10 goals at the time of writing, scoring five times in his last three Bundesliga outings as well as finding the net in every Europa Conference League game. Marmoush boasts some of the most impressive numbers in terms of progressive runs and successful dribbles in the Bundesliga this term.

"Omar is a very good player," said head coach Dino Toppmöller after a brace against Union Berlin, "who has now discovered his scoring form...The goals he is scoring right now are a reward for the hard work he is putting in. His pace consistently creates difficult moments for defenders. He now also has the instinct to get into dangerous areas and help us with his technical ability and also as a target player who can lay the ball off cleanly."

What clubs are interested in Marmoush?

In January 2023, Arsenal had looked at Marmoush as a potential alternative to Mykhailo Mudryk with sporting director Edu sending scouts to Germany to watch the then-Wolfsburg man. Dortmund and Mönchengladbach had also attempted to pounce on his expiring contract, but he ultimately signed for Frankfurt.

If he keeps up his current form, clubs of similar stature may come calling once again.

When does Marmoush's contract expire?

Marmoush's contract expires on June 30, 2027.

What is Marmoush's Instagram?

Marmoush's Instagram account is @omarmarmoush7 and has 749k followers as of November 2023.
