David de Gea has rejected a move to Al-Nassr and is instead weighing up joining Inter Miami, according to a report.

Incredibly, the Spaniard is still a free agent after departing Manchester United in the summer. A modern-day club legend at Old Trafford, the demands of Erik ten Hag's style of play made the 33-year-old's shortcomings evident and keeping him as the club's number one proved untenable in the long run.

Nevertheless, De Gea is still considered an exceptional shot-stopper, so the fact that he is still without a club is pretty surprising. The goalkeeper was touted as an option for Real Madrid when Thibaut Courtois went down with a potentially season-ending ACL injury in the summer, but Los Blancos ultimately loaned Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea.

Now, a sensational report claims that De Gea has turned down a move to Riyadh and is instead considering joining Lionel Messi in Major League Soccer.

De Gea snubs Ronaldo

The Sun claims that the Spaniard has turned down a £500,000-per-week contract from Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr because his wife is not keen on moving to Saudi Arabia.

The report asserts that there is interest in De Gea's services on the part of David Beckham and Inter Miami and a move to the US is said to be appealing to him.

Inter Miami's MLS season ended prematurely as they did not make the playoffs following a dire start to the season under Man Utd legend Phil Neville. The lack of points accrued in the early stages proved insurmountable even for Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.

Next season could be very different as the ambitious project, now headed by MLS-winning coach Tata Martino, will have designs on the title, so it's not entirely surprising that De Gea is tempted, though fitting all these big names - including Luis Suarez who is all but confirmed as a winter signing - within MLS's roster regulations could prove challenging.
