Feyenoord are ready to demand €100 million for striker Santiago Gimenez, who has attracted interest from Real Madrid and Tottenham ahead of the January transfer window.

Gimenez is currently in the form of his life at Feyenoord, scoring 15 goals in 11 games this season, and proved this once again last Wednesday during his debut in the Champions League against Lazio. The Mexican striker netted twice and increased his asking price for the upcoming transfer period, in which Europe's top clubs are lining up transfer offers.

Whether he leaves Rotterdam next winter is entirely up to Feyenoord. The Eredivisie champion seem to be on his way to progressing in Europe and could use the striker in the latter rounds of the competition.

Fabrizio Romano previously reported that Feyenoord has a hefty price tag in mind for the striker, with the football transfer news specialist suggesting €45m would be needed to sign Gimenez.

If the 22-year-old striker actually leaves Feyenoord for such a fee, he will instantly become the most expensive player ever to leave the club. That title is now still in the name of both Orkun Kokcu (Benfica) and Luis Sinisterra (Leeds United), who both left for €25m.

According to 90Min, €45m will not be sufficient to take Gimenez from the club. The striker, who is primarily linked to Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur, will cost €100m, according to those sources.

Gimenez to break Eredivisie record?

If Feyenoord manages to sell Gimenez for such an amount, the Mexico international can call himself the most expensive player ever in the Eredivisie. Antony currently carries that title. The Brazilian left for Manchester United for €95 million in the summer of 2022.

Romano previously reported that there is currently nothing concrete going on surrounding the Feyenoord striker and we have to wait and see what will happen in the transfer market in the coming months.

In addition to Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur, according to Romano, several top clubs are interested in Gimenez and it is, therefore, by no means certain that both clubs will still have the best credentials in, for example, a month's time to sign the rising star.
