Romano reveals the TRUTH behind Real Madrid and Tottenham’s Gimenez interest

Fabrizio Romano has revealed the truth behind Real Madrid and Tottenham’s interest in Santiago Gimenez of Feyenoord.
Both clubs have been linked with the prolific forward in recent days, with the Mexico international having scored 15 goals in 11 matches for the Eredivisie team this season, including a double against Lazio on his Champions League debut.
Romano has not only revealed the status of any potential transfer, but also that it will currently take a bid in the region of €45 million to prise the player away from Feyenoord.

Rumours surrounding the player have build in recent days following his display against Lazio but also the publication of an interview that seemed to point to a transfer soon.
"The two teams currently closest to potentially signing Gimenez are Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur," agent Morris Pagniello said, claiming to represent the player.
Romano shoots down fake news over Gimenez
Romano, though, claims this is false.
“From what I can tell you, speaking to direct sources close to the player, Santiago Gimenez has not agent, no intermediary. Theirs is no one taking care of his future externally. The father of the player is the only one taking care of Santiago Gimenez. He’s not released any interview about the future of the player,” he explained on YouTube.
“All the reports you saw about Tottenham, Real Madrid, being close or negotiating, from what I’m told, the only person taking care of Gimenez’s future is his father. This is important to clarify.”

Romano did, however, explain Tottenham’s interest in the player to some extent and said that it will take either club a great deal of money to sign the player.
“We know that many top clubs around Europe are keeping an eye on the boy. From what I’m hearing, something around €45m could be the right fee to make it happen,” he explained.

“You’ll remember that Spurs were considering appointing Arne Slot as their manager in the summer before Ange Postecoglou, then the deal collapsed. But they were following Feyenoord and while they were following the manager, they saw that Santi Gimenez is a very good striker.”
Gimenez is expected to leave Feyenoord, but both the timing and the destination are unclear for the moment.
