Man Utd and Liverpool to rival Arsenal for €50m LaLiga star

Long-time Arsenal target Robin Le Normand is also attracting interest from other Premier League giants, according to a report.

A sought-after commodity, the Real Sociedad defender is once again being linked with a move away. The French-born Spaniard has emerged as one of LaLiga's most solid defenders in recent seasons and he was duly rewarded with his first Spain call-up in the summer.

Le Normand has marshalled a defence that has been the basis for Real Sociedad's stunning success of late. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 26-year-old boasts a release clause of €50 million, making him a relatively attainable target for Europe's and England's elite sides.

Fifth in LaLiga and top of their Champions League group ahead of Inter, Salzburg and Benfica, Erreala are one of the continent's most intriguing sides at the moment and Le Normand is one of their star performers.

Unsurprisingly, then, Arsenal are long-time admirers of him, but now more Premier League giants are ready to enter the fray.

Man Utd, Liverpool keen

That's according to TEAMtalk, which writes that Manchester United and Liverpool have now registered an interest in the Spaniard. The Premier League giants are impressed with what they have seen from him in what is his debut season in the Champions League.

The two rivals are both in the market for a defender. Over the summer, Liverpool were said to be scouring Europe for a young, left-footed centre-back and while Le Normand is neither particularly young nor left-footed, it's not hard to see why the Reds would be interested in securing his services given his impressive form and prime age.

As for Man Utd, they are ready to add quality depth that is able to cover for - or replace - the oft-injured Raphael Varane, with Lisandro Martinez also currently nursing a serious ailment. However, the Red Devils' plans may change - albeit likely only for January - if Erik ten Hag continues to select Harry Maguire and if the erstwhile club captain continues to perform well.
