Kepa Arrizabalaga has made an admission regarding his future with Chelsea.

The Spaniard is currently on loan at Real Madrid, having moved to the club over the summer, and he has admitted that he would like to extend his stay even further.

The 29-year-old has conceded that he is very much enjoying life at Madrid and would be very happy to remain with the Spanish giants past his loan deal. “Yes, I’m very happy here," Kepa said to El Chiringuito TV. "Who doesn’t want to stay at Real Madrid?”

Real Madrid signed the Blues shot-stopper on loan after a harrowing injury was sustained by Thibaut Courtois. The Belgian ruptured his ACL and this is set to keep him out of action for most - if not all - of the current season.

Outlet Sport states that the Chelsea keeper could be available for just £21million when his deal at Real Madrid ends in the summer, while there appears to be no indication that the Blues would want to keep him and offer him fresh terms, having brought in Robert Sanchez from Brighton.

However, it’s thought that Los Blancos would be more willing to accept a deal if the fee was below £15m. A lot will depend on how he performs throughout the course of this current campaign for the club – a decision won’t be made any time soon, it is thought.

Ramsdale linked

Furthermore, Aaron Ramsdale has been linked with a move to Chelsea after Arsenal bought in David Raya as his replacement.

The England international has found himself on the bench for recent games and may be open to finding a new club.

As for Kepa, his Chelsea deal will expire in 2024, so if the club are to recoup any of the £69m they paid for him, they must tie him down on a fresh contract.

Kepa had a torrid time at Chelsea when he joined, but picked up some form in later years. The club are still on the lookout for an elite player to fill that position, however.
