Adama Bojang has begun life in Stade de Reims’ B team in immense form and has already bagged two hat-tricks in just three games for the club.

Reims’ B side play in the fifth tier of French football and Bojang has scored seven goals in just 249 minutes of action since arriving this summer.

He scored four on his debut for the side - in a 9-2 trouncing of ASM Belfort - before netting three in a narrow 4-3 victory against US Raon-l’Etape on 23 September.

The Gambian striker was chased by Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool during the most recent transfer window, but ultimately decided to move to France instead.

Reims have decided to slowly integrate Bojang into senior football, but the fifth tier in France appears far too easy for the 19-year-old.

He was involved with Reims’ first-team squad against Lyon this weekend, although Bojang was only named as ‘the extra player’ in case of emergency. He was not needed and therefore did not appear on the bench.

Bojang rose to prominence thanks to his performances for Gambian’s U20 side this year. He scored four goals and provided one assist during Gambia’s run to the U20 Africa Cup of Nations final in March, while he also bagged two at the U20 World Cup.

Which clubs were interested in signing Bojang?

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool were all keen on signing Bojang during the summer window.

Furthermore, Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig were “pushing hard” for the Gambian this summer, as per Romano.

The likes of Strasbourg, Wolves, Tottenham, Crystal Palace and Ligue 1 runners-up RC Lens were also said to be keeping tabs on the youngster.

However, he instead joined Reims following the departure of Folarin Balogun after his loan spell from Arsenal ended. Bojang is yet to make his first-team debut for the French side.
