Catamo joined Sporting back in 2019 after signing from Amora, where he was playing for the B team for three years. The African wonderkid has had an excellent start to the season in Portugal with one goal and two assists for the Leoes in the first eight games. His side are now joint top of the league with Benfica and Porto with a game in hand - while they also remain unbeaten in the division.

Catamo is represented by Promoesport, who we are told have a good relationship with Arsenal after amicable negotiations with their client and former Valencia midfielder Carlos Soler back in 2021. Personal terms were verbally agreed with Soler, but Valencia changed the fee for the player during talks because of how Arsenal wanted to structure the payment.

How good is Catamo?

Catamo possesses great dribbling skills and is gradually earning a place in the XI of the Lisbon club.

This season, in addition to his good performances for the club, he also sealed qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations with Mozambique.

FootballTransfers’ algorithm has Catamo’s Estimated Transfer Value at €0.7m. He is contracted to Sporting CP until June 2025, meaning that Sporting will have to tie him down to fresh terms next year or risk losing him on a free transfer in the subsequent year.
