Mikel Arteta has reportedly identified Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi as a key transfer target for 2024 as he eyes improving his Arsenal backline.

The Gunners boss “sees Guehi as part of his long-term plans and is both willing and happy to wait” to sign him, according to The Sun’s Alan Nixon.

The report also states that Guehi is being chased by Manchester United, Manchester City and possibly Chelsea, as Palace prepare to receive multiple offers for the England international.

Arsenal are known admirers of Guehi, but will wait until next summer before launching into negotiations, as per The Sun.

The England defender has been one of Crystal Palace’s standout players since his €23.3 million move from Chelsea in 2021 and has played 90 minutes in nine of the Eagles’ 10 Premier League matches this season.

Chelsea do have the option to match any offer that Palace receive for Guehi, but the Blues have signed Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana in the past year so are unlikely to heavily push to resign their former star.

Man Utd also want Guehi

South London Press claim that Guehi is being tracked by United and that the Red Devils could look to make a summer play to bring the 23-year-old to Old Trafford.

However, the report states that any potential deal would likely surpass the €55 million club-record sale Palace made when Aaron Wan-Bissaka joined United in 2019, while Erik ten Hag’s side would likely face competition for Guehi if they are to pursue a deal.

In addition, Fabrizio Romano has reported that Man Utd are currently looking at Goncalo Inacio, Antonio Silva, Jean-Clair Todibo and Edmond Tapsoba as they search for a new centre-back, but Guehi “has the advantage that he has proven himself in the Premier League.”
