The second-most valuable team in world football is actually Chelsea (€868.4m ETV), but Mauricio Pochettino’s side will not be playing in any form of European competition this campaign after finishing 12th in the Premier League last season.

Real Madrid’s €854.7m ETV means they are the second-most valuable Champions League squad this year. Los Blancos may have lost the talismanic figure of Karim Benzema to the Saudi Pro League, but they still have nine players valued over €40m, including summer signing Jude Bellingham (€122.5m) and Brazil star Vinicius Junior (€105m).

Arsenal (€796.2m), Paris Saint-Germain (€765.2m) and Manchester United (€757.1m) complete the top five.

Their most valuable player is 21-year-old forward Vladimir Lucic, who has an ETV of €4.5m.

Young Boys (€66.8m), Shakhtar Donetsk (€77.5m), Royal Antwerp (€105.9m) and Braga (€110.3m) complete the bottom five.
