Man Utd Transfer News: Amrabat given GREEN LIGHT, Maguire replacement IDENTIFIED, Romano GUARANTEE

Al-Ahli have still not given up hope of hijacking Manchester United’s deal to sign Sofyan Amrabat, but the player is "prepared to wait" for the Red Devils.

Transfer journalist Rudy Galletti has reported that the Saudis are still pushing hard to sign Amrabat but have given the Fiorentina midfielder a deadline of Monday 7 August to give his okay to the move.

Man Utd are still considered favourites to sign Amrabat but are unable to place a bid until they sell Fred and/or Scott McTominay.

Fiorentina are asking for €30 million and La Repubblica reports that United are expected to make an offer of €25m plus add-ons.

Furthermore, Man Utd are now fully focused on signing Amrabat after unveiling Rasmus Hojlund on Saturday, according to La Repubblica.

Amrabat himself is "prepared to wait" for a move to Old Trafford, despite interest from the Saudi Pro League, reports Ben Jacobs.

In addition, Roma could provide a solution to their issue of funding a move for Amrabat as they are interested in signing McTominay. However, West Ham are also in the race for the Scotland international and have seen their opening bid rejected by Man Utd. Erik ten Hag's side are reportedly holding out for €46m (£40m), according to Sacha Tavolieri.

Maguire replacement REVEALED

Harry Maguire has fallen down the pecking order since Erik ten Hag arrived at Old Trafford and he is for sale this summer, with West Ham among the teams interested in signing him.

According to Fabrizio Romano, if Maguire was to depart, Ten Hag would move to secure Nice centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo, a 23-year-old who previously enjoyed a spell at Barcelona earlier in his career.

“Manchester United had contacts to be informed on the conditions of Jean Clair Todibo deal. No bid or talks at this stage as the option could only be activated if Harry Maguire leaves,” Romano said.

Since leaving Barca, where he was perceived to have an attitude problem because he felt he was not getting the first-team football that he merited, Todibo has earned a reputation as being one of the best centre-backs in Ligue 1 and has been on the fringes of the France national team squad.

Juventus have been following the centre-back this summer but have been put off by the fact that Nice want at least €30 million for the rising star.

Romano makes 100% guarantee

Fred has been linked with a move to Fulham and also Galatasaray over the course of the transfer window, but so far no club has reached the Red Devils’ valuation of €23 million (£20m).

However, Romano has assured Man Utd fans that a deal will be done. “Manchester United expect Fred sale to advance next week. Sources guarantee he will 100% leave the club,” Romano stated on Twitter.

Onana speaks out after Lens error

Andre Onana was lobbed from the centre-circle in Manchester United's pre-season friendly against Lens, but has now spoken out after Gary Neville's claim about his position.

"It's the single most difficult position in English football," said Neville. "The Manchester United goalkeeper comes under more scrutiny if they make a mistake than any other position in English football on the pitch. It's tough and I've seen lads in that goal [struggle]. That's the problem they've got."

Onana now has his first major howler under his belt, but the former Barcelona, Ajax and Inter man isn't shying away from it.

Lineker unsure about Hojlund

Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker is unsure whether the purchase of Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta will take Man Utd to the next level.

In his season preview for The Sun, the former Barcelona striker said: "United have spent a lot of money on 20-year-old Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta and I can’t say I have seen a lot of him.

"Perhaps they see him more as one for the long term but I’m not convinced he’s going to make the difference for them."

Osimhen receives £1m annual salary offer from Saudi Arabia

Former Man Utd transfer target Victor Osimhen has received a €1.16m (£1m) yearly wage offer from Saudi Arabia in a bid to convince him to join the Saudi Pro League.

Al-Hilal remain determined to sign Napoli and Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen and have offered the 24-year-old an annual salary of €1.16 million (£1m) in a bid to convince him to move to Saudi Arabia.

Osimhen has been the subject of transfer interest all summer after netting 26 Serie A goals for Napoli last season as he helped them lift the Scudetto for the first time since 1990.

Both Chelsea and Manchester United have previously been interested, but the former have signed both Christoper Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson, while Erik ten Hag’s side have added Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta.

According to Ben Jacobs, Al-Hilal remain focused on signing Osimhen, after being rejected by Kylian Mbappe, and have offered him a yearly wage of €1.16m (£1m), which is more than the €700m presented to Mbappe.

Al-Hilal have already signed Malcom, Ruben Neves, Kalidou Koulibaly and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer, but reportedly want one big-name addition after missing out on Mbappe and Lionel Messi.
