Everton are looking unlikely to sign Wilfried Gnonto after being informed by Leeds that the winger is not for sale during crunch talks this week.

As FootballTransfers revealed, Everton were preparing another offer close to Leeds’ valuation of the 19-year-old.

But having talks on Monday, the Premier League outfit were infomed that Leeds were unwilling to let the Italian leave Elland Road, despite Gnonto handing in an official transfer request.

It is not clear whether Everton will decide to come back in after talks reached an impasse, but the side are now in the process of considering other options, such as Johan Bakayoko of PSV Eindhoven and Luis Sinisterra, also at Leeds.

Gnonto wants a Premier League return with regular game-time in a bid to secure a spot in the Italy national side for next summer’s European Championships.

Sean Dyche is a huge fan of Gnonto, and a lot of the groundwork has already taken place over a deal. But the youngster is now back in training at Thorp Arch and a move is now considered unlikely.

Everton continue Adams talks

Everton are also in talks for Che Adams after a fee was agreed with Southampton - it’s just a matter of working out the desired instalments and structure from each party. The side are now hoping to bring in a winger as Demarai Gray nears an exit to the Saudi Pro League.
