Chelsea are closing in on a deal to sign Crystal Palace star Michael Olise, with personal terms now reportedly almost agreed, according to reports.

The Blues have already spent over €200 million on transfers this summer and that tally is set to more than double in the next week if they land Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, Deivid Washington and Olise as planned.

Olise, 21, is currently sidelined after picking up a hamstring injury while on France duty during the U21 European Championships, but that has'nt dissuaded Chelsea, who are pushing to complete a deal for the winger.

Manchester City have also been credited with interest in the former Reading man, but Pep Guardiola’s side are pursuing Stade Rennais speedstar Jeremy Doku too and appear to have placed their focus on the Belgian.

That has given Chelsea almost a free run at Olise and they are looking to complete a deal very soon. The Evening Standard’s Nizaar Kinsella has reported the Blues are close to agreeing personal terms and that the deal is set to be worth roughly €53m (£45m).

Olise scored just two Premier League goals last season, but provided 11 assists - the fourth most in the entire division, behind only Kevin de Bruyne, Mohamed Salah and Leandro Trossard.

Chelsea’s summer business

Having already landed Christopher Nkunku (€60m), Axel Disasi (€45m), Nicolas Jackson (€37m), Lesley Ugochukwu (€27m), Robert Sanchez (€23m) and Angelo Gabriel (€15m) this summer, Chelsea are showing no signs of slowing down in the market.

Deals for Moises Caicedo and Deivid Washington are expected to be completed in the coming days, while Romeo Lavia and Olise could also join the west London club this week.

As a result, the Blues’ spending since Todd Boehly took over as owner last summer is set to exceed €1 billion within the next seven days if Chelsea complete those four deals.
